    211091 - JAM Just Another Mudder

    Kids, are you up for a challenge? Come try JUST ANOTHER MUDDER (JAM)! We had nearly 400 participants last year and expect even more this year!

    Itís similar to the adult mud runs but made for kids! Participants will be crawling, jumping, running and much more through the mud filled approximately 1 mile obstacle course!

    All participants are to be onsite and check-in at the Registration tent at PSU's Baja Course.

    Be sure to bring an extra set of clothes and shoes to change into after this event as well as a bag to place items in; restrooms will be available.

    Participants need to wear tennis shoes, a shirt and pants (or shorts) for this event; those arriving in flip flops or bathing suits will not be permitted to race due to safety reasons. Please dress according to the weather.

    Participants can regsiter for specific time slots to compete between 9:00am - 2:00pm. List of time slots are available on the registration form; times will vary for the adult Gorilla Dash and the youth Just Another Mudder events. Time slots are a first come, first served basis. For better selection, we recommend early registration. All participants must have a signed waiver completed in order to participate in any event.

    211092 - Punt, Pass & Kick

    Test your football skills against area youth in a fun and friendly competition!

    Each participant has one punt, one pass, and one kick to be scored by distance and accuracy.

    Age divisions are as follows: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 Boys & Girls!

    Register by April 4th to recieve an awesome PPK shirt!

    Make sure to wear athletic clothing and cleats.

    212090 - Gorilla Dash

    PSU's ROTC Gorilla Dash is an adult 5K obstacle course that will consist of over 30 obstacles to be navigated in order to complete the course. This event is open to all skill levels for ages 14 and older regardless of prior experience! Anyone and everyone is welcome!

    Divisions include: Male, Female, Coed, Public Service (EMT, Fire, Police, Armed Services, etc.), Student Organizations (Sports Teams, Fraternities, Sororities, etc.) and High School.

    Both Individual and Team Brackets available in specific divisions; a team consist of 5 people. Groups of 2-4 may run together but will not be considered a team and must still pay individual fees.

    T-shirts are included with the registration fee; t-shirts not guaranteed after March 31st.

    214080 - OK Kid's Day

    Join Pittsburg Parks & Recreation and Pittsburg State University for OK Kansas Kid's Day. Last year we had over 250 participants and this year is going to be even better. This day, sponsored by the Kansas Wildscape Foundation, is designed to get families outdoors. Activities will include such things as a fishing derby, canoeing, bike rodeo, archery, and outdoor games. Participation in this fun filled day will be FREE. Children under 8 should not be left unattended and must have an adult in attendance. All participants must have a signed waiver in order to participate.

    215062 - Adv. Dog Obedience

    You must have completed a Dog Obedience Course from the Parks and Recreation Department to enroll in this class. If you have not completed the required course contact us for upcoming classes. If you believe that your dog has the skills to attend the Advance Training Class without the required course you can contact the instructor, James Epple, at 417-214-4075 to set up an appointment to have your dog evaluated. Upon the evaluation the instructor will be able to determine if the dog has the knowledge and skills to attend this class.

    Dog attends ALL classes.

    311044 - Baseball Camp

    The Annual Fundamental Baseball Camp will be held Tuesday, May 30th and Wednesday, May 31st from 8:00am to Noon at PSU's Plaster Center located at 1800 S. Block of Homer Street. This camp is for children ages 7-13 and the registration fee is $60.00. This camp is instructed by Mike Watt and is designed to enhance each players fundamental baseball skills. All players need to bring their glove and a hat. You may also wish to bring water bottles, sunscreen and a bat. For camp questions call PPRD at 620-231-8310.

    Pittsburg's annual July 4th Celebration will be taking place on July 3rd and July 4th.

    Art & Crafts, Food, and Beverage vendors are welcome and encouraged to apply! For registration forms, please visit www.pittks.org.

    All registrations must be paid in full and completed by June 15, 2018 or a $10.00 late fee will apply.
    No refunds are given after June 15th or in the event of inclement weather.

    341110 - Jr. Starz Workshop

    Jr. Starz is a workshop designed for children ages 6 to 12. The workshop is two weeks in length and will expose children to theatrical activities, including acting, singing, dancing, stage directions, prop construction, and costuming. At the conclusion of the workshop the children will stage a production for their families and community members highlighting what they have learned. Pittsburg Community Theatre hopes to instill in the participants a love for theatre that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. This yearís workshop will be directed by Megan Gabehart, the show this year is "Most Epic Birthday Party Ever". The work shop will run June 11th - 22nd. New this year...two session will be offered at 8:00am-Noon OR 1:00-5:00 pm with a performances June 22nd at 6:00pm (Group A) OR 8:00pm (Group B) that is open to the public.
